Meet the Attorneys

Nancy Schiavone

Nancy has over thirty years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney. She has significant expertise in commercial leasing and commercial real estate transactions and provides advice and legal counseling for publicly traded corporations, privately held companies and entrepreneurial real estate investors. She has a broad range of commercial real estate experience that she developed in her former roles as associate and partner in the commercial real estate department of Katten Muchin Rosenman, managing attorney for McDonald’s Corporation, and as a development attorney for General Growth Properties, Inc.

Nancy is a 1980 graduate of the University of Illinois receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a 1983 graduate of the DePaul University College of Law receiving a Juris Doctorate degree. Nancy was a member of the Law Review at DePaul University College of Law. Nancy is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Illinois Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

Mary T. Zerega

Mary has been handling real estate transactions and commercial matters for over thirty years. She represents national leasing clients in connection with commercial shopping center leases. Mary was formerly a partner with McDermott, Will & Emery where she concentrated in commercial litigation and commercial bankruptcy. Her experience includes litigating breach of contract, fraud, mortgage foreclosure, breach of fiduciary duty and general tort claims, and representing creditors and debtors in bankruptcy/reorganization cases, adversary proceedings and out-of-court workouts.

Prior to McDermott, Will & Emery, she was associated with Wildman, Harold, Allen and Dixon practicing in the areas of commercial real estate litigation, mortgage foreclosure and commercial bankruptcy. Following law school, Mary was a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She is a 1983 graduate of the DePaul University College of Law, where she was a Managing Editor of the DePaul Law Review.
